Construction and Demolition Requirements

Request a debris box quote! Under the City and County of San Francisco's Construction and Demolition (C&D) Ordinance, effective July 1, 2006, construction and demolition (C&D) debris (such as wood, metal, concrete, asphalt, and sheetrock) taken off a site must go to a registered construction recycling facility and cannot go to landfill. The Ordinance also requires that C&D debris be taken to a registered facility that can process mixed C&D debris and divert a minimum of 65 percent of the material from landfill. The mandatory ordinance ensures that C&D materials are recycled and applies to all commercial and residential indoor and outdoor construction projects including repairs, improvements, additions, remodeling, and demolitions.
